If you do not want to camp, you can enjoy a comfortable bed and a private bathroom at Kungskvarnen's  (Kings Mill) hotel in Borgvik. There are three family rooms and four large double rooms in the old inn on Rallvägen and 20 smaller rooms in two wooden buildings near the mill. Breakfast is served in Kungskvarnen's restaurant, and if the sun is shining you can enjoy it on the veranda next to the rippling river. Read more here

There are usually plenty of both berries and mushrooms in the forests around Sävsjön. First out are yellow chanterelles and porcini mushroom then come wild raspberries, blueberries and finally lingonberries and autumn chanterelles.

Vänerkajak is located in the workshop in Borgvik . They have sales, rentals and paddle courses in the harbor. You can also paddle up in Värmeln from the river above  Kungskvarnen restaurant. Canoes and kayaks can also be rented there !

The track  is 8 km long and goes all the way around the lake. If you want to take a shorter walk, you can walk up the path from the lower parking lot to the ancient fort.

Lake Vänern Grand Tour is a currently ongoing and developing concept that will help to make Lake Vänern a destination, with activities around the lake. The bicycle path that is being build around the lake will be the backbone of this concept. Try it out!

Borgvik, which is about 7 km away, is one of Värmland's best-preserved working environments. There have been mills, ironworks, wood grinding mills, carpentry factories, sawmills and freight ports. Kungskvarnen lives on as a hotel and restaurant, the grain magazine is now a museum, the grinding mill has become an art gallery and local crafts are now sold in the old shop.
